Local Community Events
Kerrisdale plays host to many exciting events throughout the year, including the Shaughnessy 8km run, Kerrisdale Carnival Days, the Christmas tree sales event, among others. The community was also privileged to be chosen as part of the Olympic Torch Relay event during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
One of the most exciting of these events is Kerrisdale Carnival Days (see photo below of our very own Colin Holyk and his band Line 49 performing in 2010). This festival transforms West 41st and West 40th into a fun filled carnival zone with face painting, free horse and carriage rides, clowns, sidewalk sales, the Kerrisdale Idol competition and live music.
Summer Saturdays: Music Under The Clock – A variety of musicians perform free under the clock at West 41st Ave. and Yew St.
Kerrisdale Days —–20% off Vitamins and Supplements—– Free events for the entire family, featuring music, clowns, face painting, rides, amazing sidewalk sales and the Carnival Parade.
October: Free Hallowe’en Skate – Come in costume and join other ghouls and monsters as they skate to live music. Free admission and rentals while they last…and the best pumpkin sugar cookies in town!
December: Christmas in Kerrisdale – Free horse and carriage rides, Santa and roving musical quartets set the festive scene in the beautifully decorated Kerrisdale Village.
